Our local 16 to 25 year olds tell me that the top 4 issues facing Britain today are Education, the NHS, the Environment and Tuition & Top Up Fees. All 4 of these issues are in our top 10 priorities.
Over 130 young people responded to my youth survey. Key concerns are lack of public transport between villages and Winchester, particularly in the evenings and insufficient leisure and entertainment facilities for young people. I remain in support of developing facilities for young people. I recently met with a number of local young people to discuss their ideas and concerns in more depth. I am in favour of a late night venue but only if the right site can be found away from local residential areas. I would also like to see more “Byte” style cafes. Overall I would like to continue my meetings with the Hampshire Youth M.P. so I can ensure young people's interests continue to be represented.
