Labour still aren’t getting the basics right and are making changes, but not progress. The achievement gap between the haves and the have nots is growing and has to be tackled.
Give People the Skills for Work: Employers up and down the country know that school-leavers often don’t have the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. Liberal Democrats would reform education for children over 14 so that they can mix vocational and academic learning, as Liberal Democrats in government in Scotland have already done. This can include apprenticeships, combined with basic skills courses. This will ensure that more school-leavers have the range of skills they need for success.
