Winchester MP Mark Oaten is this week writing to over 800 constituents who live in Park Homes to inform them of recent Parliamentary activity which may affect them.
There are a number of park home sites within Winchester and the Meon Valley and it is an issue Mark has paid close attention to during his time in office.
Over the years a number of park home residents have felt aggrieved and concerned about the lack of fairness concerning the rules and regulations covering park homes particularly on rent increases and strict sale rules.
Following a debate on the subject in Parliament on Wednesday the 26th of March Mark has notified his constituents of the subjects discussed and the potential for new legislation which would include changes to site licensing arrangements and new enforcement powers for Local Authorities.
Commenting on the debate Mark Oaten stated:
“The debate last week touched on a number of issues and problems that directly affect my constituents who live in Park Homes. I think there is a consensus emerging that things need to change to a fairer system and I fully support that.
“I would urge all residents that I am writing to about this to get in touch with any comments or thoughts so that I can make representations for them to the Government and make sure their voice is heard.
