MP Speaks Out Against Eagle Star’s Eco Town Proposal

Responding to Eagle Star’s eco town proposal, Winchester MP, Mark Oaten, said:

“Nobody will be fooled by Eagle Star’s attempts to suggest their housing development is environmentally friendly.  Bulldozing over a greenfield is hardly an endorsement of green credentials.  The truth is that for almost a decade they have been desperate to get their hands on this site and it appears that they will say anything to try and develop on this land.  I am a big fan of eco developments and we should be doing more to insist all new houses reflect the need to tackle climate change, but let nobody be fooled that this is a serious attempt to achieve that.”
