Mark Oaten has added his support for the funding and clinical trials of cryotherapy in Spire Southampton Hospital.
Cryotherapy to the prostate is often the only curative option for prostate cancer sufferers. New guidelines have been introduced by NICE on the use of cryotherapy, both in the primary and the salvage setting, which would suggest that cryotherapy be used for clinical trials. Yet since this proposal, funding for cryotherapy has been put on hold. Consequently many constituents may incur problems in accessing treatment for prostate cancer.
Mark has written the Department of Health adding his support to reinitiate funding for cryotherapy and to begin funding for clinical trials of cryotherapy.
